About Us

The Dublin Hillwalkers Club is a Dublin based hiking club that was established in 1993 for those who wanted to enjoy long, adventurous hikes in Wicklow and further afield. The club has a membership of just under 100, and is affiliated to Mountaineering Ireland, the representative body for hillwalkers and climbers in Ireland.

The Dublin Hillwalkers Club is a hiking club for fit, active hikers who enjoy long, adventurous days out in the Wicklow and Dublin mountains and further afield. The Hillwalkers Club is based in Dublin, and uses a bus to transport members between the city centre and the hikes.

Hiking is a fantastic way to spend a day. Outdoor activity has proven health benefits, while membership of a hiking club provides a great social aspect.

The Hillwalkers Club is a very welcoming club, and we are open to new members joining.

The Hillwalkers Club meets to go hiking on almost every Sunday of the year. The Club usually hikes in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains, but also organises longer day trips and weekends away to other mountain ranges in Ireland, such as the Comeraghs, Mournes, Galtees and MacGillicuddy Reeks.

In addition to hiking activities, there is also a vibrant social programme throughout the year that includes a Christmas party and summer barbecue, as well as events and activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, table quizes, brewery tours and meals out.
